Final update from France!!!
On the final day in France the children visited the Caen Museum and American War Cemetery. After that they visited a chocolate factory. They finished the day off with a swim and some postcard writing.
Friday - After breakfast this morning the long journey home begins. The plan is to try to get an earlier train home - we'll get an update throughout the day.

Update from France
Wednesday- The children had a fantastic visit to Maisy Battery, an open, air former German encampment. Unfortunately it rained all the way round and everyone got covered in mud- it was great fun!
After a sleep and breakfast another full day is planned including a museum visit then a visit to a chocolate factory! Mmmmm!

A Postcard From France.
They all arrived safely, although a bit later than intended. After a good night's sleep the children had a lovely morning on the beach before heading off to the war museum in the afternoon. They then went swimming before their evening meal and headed back to the beach for toasted marshmallows and a sing song.
After that busy day the children all slept and this morning were going to visit a Boulangerie to make bread followed by a trip to Maisy Battery War Cemetery.

Attendance Really Matters....
Mrs Hill , the school's attendance manager, has worked hard on producing the following documents for parents and pupils with regards to our new colour banding system we are launching in September. Hopefully children, parents and staff will have a clearer picture on which pupils attendance are concerning us and we can work together as a whole school.

Leading Parent Partnership Award.
The work of Professor Charles Desforges tells us that at the age of seven parental influence on children’s learning is six times that of the school, and by the age of eleven it is still a third greater.
At Harpur Mount we just don't help children we strive to help Parents and carers as well, over the last year Mrs Dale and some of our staff have been provided enrichment courses for parents and carers on how they can help their children as well as set up opportunities for them to learn together.
The School is reaching the final steps for this reward on Friday 29th June, if you have been part of any of the courses please leave a comment below or contact Mrs Dale at school.
Many Thanks!
