Year 4 Tudor Hall Trip

On Wednesday the 18th April, Year 4 went on a trip to Shibden Hall in Yorkshire for a Tudor Experience. They made posies and looked at some artefacts. Some even got to dress up as Mini Tudors.

"It was excellent! I learnt a lot."said Ore from Class 12.

Year 6 are very dramatic !

With lots of help from Natasha from the Zion Arts Centre in Hulme, the Year 6 Drama Group performed a version of the tale , "Where The Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak. It involved song and dance as well as some powerful acting, by the looks of the pictures they had a good time too.

Trips, Trips & More Trips

The children at Harpur Mount have been very busy visiting Zoo's and aquarium's over the last few weeks. Nursery went on a visit to Blackpool Zoo, Reception went to the Blue Planet Aquarium and year 4 went to Chester Zoo. The children were thrilled to see all the different animals and fish. Year 6 On A Magical Mystery Tour.....

On Thursday (9/2/12) Year 6 went to The Beatles Museum in Liverpool as part of their Topic work. First they went on an audio tour of the exhibition room.

After that they went to the discovery room where some of them dressed up in 60's clothes. Next they had a fun quiz about 60's icons. There was a huge piano and also the Yellow Submarine (with real fish!)

Year 6's Visit to Manchester Communications Academy

BLINDED BY SCIENCE !!!

On Monday (6/2/2012) Year 6 went for a visit to the Communications Academy and got dressed up as scientists. They carried out some experiments to do with bulbs ,wires and batteries to investigate circuits. Hayley, from Class 14, explained to me "It was fun and very interesting"

Urban Crew at Sir Thomas Court

Members of our Urban Crew team accompanied myself and Ian Gillett (from Northwards Housing) on an afternoon trip to Sir Thomas Court Residential home. We served the residents tea and biscuit and had a good chat (even though some people were very shy ?!?)We had a discussion about what they thought of the new Youth Club and young people in general. The highlight of the afternoon was when the crew organised the Bingo. Well done everyone!
